I have had a few people ask if I was serious or not when I set a goal of $500 for a fundraising drive. The short answer is, of course!

The longer and more thorough answer always follows and it boils down to doing what we can with what we have. Would we like to receive $5,000 or $50,000 every time we run a fundraiser? Sure!

Could we help more animals and people with more money? Of course we could but what we are doing is breaking up our needs and requests in to smaller and more attainable sized chunks.

So, with all of that being said, what does $500 do?

6 Veterans can attend appointments at the Seattle VA from places like Port Angeles and Moses Lake without sitting through the 6 hour round trip drive.

or

20 or more animals can be transported from central Oregon to rescues in Washington.

or

1 Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine that needs to go home on emergency leave will have a ticket to anywhere in the USA.

or

$500 will also cover the required overnight stay for a volunteer pilot on our longest trip between Los Angels and Seattle. While the volunteer pilots pay their entire flight expense we try to cover the hotel costs, a nominal fee for food, landing fees, airplane tie-down and parking fees, etc.

While $500 might not seem like a lot to some, $500 can mean the world to the people and animals that we help.
